A breast lift moves breast tissue that has descended to the lower portion of the breast to a more elevated position. The surgery can be performed through a variety of incisions depending on how much excess skin needs to be removed and how much the tissue needs to be elevated. A breast lift generally changes the shape of the breast from a flattened more droopy shape to a rounder, perkier one and may decrease the size of the nipple areolar complex. A breast lift may be performed in conjunction with an augmentation, also known as an augmentation mammoplasty.
